Melt ‘em down and keep on truckin’! Make the best of what ya got. Don’t worry, be happy. Jesus Loves You! Wahoo!
There’s nothing that makes me happier than a new box of Crayola brand crayons. Generic crayons drive me nuts. It’s like buying generic Velveeta cheese. Yowza. I know I’m a Dave Ramsey lover, but sometimes, you just gotta spring for the good stuff and fork over that extra $.50.
Anyhoo. We cleaned out our crayon boxes here at the homschool a few days ago and used all the little nubblits to make these puppies. It’s easy, fun, and the boys loved it! (and if you’re doubting your generic crayon purchase….MELT ‘em down! And go buy some pointy new Crayola’s!)
Use a cupcake pan (I used a mini one), line with cupcake foils, fill with a few pieces of broken up crayons.
Colors close up….
Place into a pre-heated oven at 225 degrees just until melted. Watch ‘em close becuase burnt crayon smell will cause dry heaves for the young and old.
Noah carefully places them in the oven….
Here’s what they’ll look like straight out of the oven. They’ll be VERY melty. So, take care not to whip ‘em outta the oven super fast.
Once cooled, carefully peel away the foil cup cake wrappers.
Aren’t they pretty?
Ooooohhhhhhhh……
Eeeeeeehhhhhhh…….
Now go melt some generic crayons y’all!
